“… Old buildings are not ours. They belong, partly to those who built them, and partly to the generations of mankind who are to follow us. The dead still have their right in them: That which they labored for … we have no right to obliterate.” “What we ourselves have built, we are at liberty to throw down. But what other men gave their strength, and wealth, and life to accomplish, their right over it does not pass away with their death …”

by John Ruskin 1849, “The Seven Lamps of Architecture” chapter 6

Trying out my new iPad

We had Christmas early this year and my lovely wife gave me an iPad, and I wanted to check to see how hard it was to post an entry. Not too bad. I prefer to have the screen sideways to get the bigger keyboard. I still can’t figure out how to type for a long time while I am not a table. My wrist give out to quickly any other way. My 9th grade typing teacher would be so proud. One thing that I did find out is that tumblr won’t let you do on the iPad is load pictures from the iPad while on the Internet. I guess I will have to download the app.
